Summary
Martell Group (Martell Media) builds people, brands, and ventures across Media, B2B SaaS, and AI, founded by entrepreneur and investor Dan Martell. The Video Editor role turns raw footage into story-driven videos that create impact, emotion, and action across YouTube and other channels. You will report to the Creative Director and help elevate narrative quality and performance through strong editing and collaboration.
What you'll do
- Edit short- and long-form videos for YouTube, social media, podcasts, and online courses.
- Apply transitions, titles, captions, color correction, audio cleanup, and platform-appropriate pacing.
- Implement creative storytelling techniques to elevate raw footage into compelling narratives.
- Add motion graphics, music, and sound design aligned with the brand voice.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and talent to deliver final cuts.
- Contribute to planning (brainstorming, scripting support, content layout) and participate in reviews/postmortems.
- Organize and manage media libraries, B-roll, templates, and production assets.
- Maintain consistency in brand style, color palette, and design across content.
- Export deliverables in multiple formats and resolutions for different channels.
- Stay current on editing trends and platform-specific requirements (especially YouTube and short-form).
- Use performance metrics (CTR, watch time, engagement) to adapt editing styles.
- Deliver projects on time and to internal creative/strategic standards.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years editing video for online platforms.
- Tools: Advanced Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition (or comparable tools).
- Portfolio: Demonstrated short-form (e.g., reels) and long-form (e.g., YouTube) work.
- Craft: Strong understanding of pacing, structure, and video storytelling.
- Work style: Strong time management, file organization, and ability to handle fast feedback loops and multiple deadlines.
- Location requirement: Ability to work full-time on-site in Kelowna, BC.
- Preferred: Editing for personal brands/coaches/high-growth media startups; familiarity with DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro and color grading workflows; light design skills (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator); interest in personal development/entrepreneurship/creator economy.
Conditions
- Full-time role.
- On-site in Kelowna, BC (not remote for this position).
- Compensation listed as $80,000 per year (converted to monthly USD in salary field).
