Summary
Karbon is an AI-powered practice management software company for accounting firms with a globally distributed team across multiple countries. The Director of Talent Acquisition will own and elevate the global recruitment function, leading as a player-coach while scaling recruiting operations, performance, and AI-enabled process improvements. This role partners closely with leadership to deliver predictable, data-driven hiring outcomes aligned to headcount plans.
What you'll do
- Lead and scale the recruiting function with clear monthly and quarterly hiring targets aligned to workforce plans and business priorities.
- Manage recruiting performance using activity targets, ramp expectations, pipeline coverage ratios, and conversion/velocity diagnostics.
- Build and maintain data-driven recruiting management systems, dashboards, and reporting to monitor pipeline health and quality.
- Own and continuously refine recruitment forecasting models; validate forecast accuracy against real-time pipeline data.
- Partner with People, Finance, and functional leaders to identify hiring risks, capacity constraints, and market signals; adjust plans proactively.
- Operate as a player-coach by personally closing roles while coaching and scaling recruiter output through structured cadences and inspections.
- Set and uphold a high talent bar; drive accountability to outcomes via pipeline reviews and feedback loops.
- Provide executive visibility by presenting on hiring progress, forecast accuracy, risks, and recommendations.
- Own and report on KPIs (hires per period, time-to-fill/start, recruiter productivity, pipeline coverage/conversions, offer acceptance, quality/durability of hire).
- Lead AI-first experimentation and integration of AI tools to improve recruiting efficiency and delivery.
- Drive recruiting maturation projects (assessments, hiring manager enablement, employer branding).
- Manage and hold vendors accountable (e.g., Greenhouse, Xref) through regular operational check-ins.
Requirements
- 5+ years of talent acquisition experience.
- 1–2+ years in a managerial or team lead capacity.
- Demonstrated success as a hands-on, full-cycle recruiter in SaaS.
- Strong data and analytics orientation; ability to build/manage dashboards and use metrics to drive decisions.
- Experience running recruiting systems and reporting, ideally Greenhouse ATS.
- AI-first mindset with experience experimenting with and implementing AI-driven approaches to improve recruiting processes.
- Proven ability to build scalable, high-integrity recruiting processes in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong stakeholder influence and cross-functional partnership skills; ability to advise leadership using data.
