HR Generalist

Instacart is transforming the grocery industry by providing grocery delivery and flexible earning opportunities for shoppers. The HR Generalist supports pillars within the HR Business Partner function by advising on employee relations and compensation, and by driving people-process improvements to enable business growth.

• Advise and coach first-time managers on employee relations, systems implementation, compensation, performance management, and HR policies.

• Partner with HR Business Partner(s) on larger projects and organizational changes.

• Identify and recommend improvements to HR programs and processes to increase efficiency and enhance employee experience.

• Manage new hire onboarding logistics for assigned client groups.

• Conduct exit interviews and support administration of employee offboarding.

• Stay current on state HR laws and practices, including payroll, benefits, compliance, terminations, and leaves of absence.

• Manage employee relations inquiries and respond to questions about benefits, systems, performance, company programs, and policies.

• 5+ years of HR experience in fast-growing organizations.

• Knowledge of federal and state HR laws and regulations.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Strong communication skills with experience influencing and collaborating cross-functionally.

• Experience representing HR policies and practices to managers and employees (being the face of HR).

• Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

• BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Remote role under Instacart's Flex First approach, with flexibility to work from home or other locations and participation in regular in-person events.
