Data Engineer

Wheely is a high-end ride-hailing service redefining premium transportation across major cities in Europe and the Middle East. We are seeking a Data Engineer to strengthen our Data Team and provide best-in-class data experience to Business Users and Data Scientists.

• Enhance Data team with architectural best practices and low-level optimizations
• Support on evolving data integration pipelines (Debezium, Kafka, dlt), data modelling (dbt), database engines (Snowflake), ML Ops (Airflow, MLflow), BI reporting (Metabase, Observable, Text-2-SQL), reverse ETL syncs (Census)
• Cover up business units with feature requests, bugfixes, and data quality issues
• Enforce code quality, automated testing and code style

• 3+ years of experience in Data Infrastructure Engineer, Data Engineer, or MLOps Engineer roles
• Work experience or troubleshooting experience in: Analytical Databases (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), Data Pipelines (Kafka, Airflow or similar), Data Modeling with DRY and structured approach, Containerizing applications (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Fluent with SQL and Python
• At least Intermediate level of English
• Experience in researching and integrating open-source technologies
• Ability to identify performance bottlenecks
• Team work experience with GitOps, Continuous Integration, Code reviews
• Technical university degree
