Senior Test Automation and Performance Engineer (Azure DevOps, Playwright/Selenium, JMeter/k6)

Scavenger Tech is seeking a Senior Test Automation and Performance Engineer to design and maintain automation frameworks while owning performance engineering and NFR compliance. You will integrate quality validation into CI/CD pipelines, identify performance bottlenecks, and ensure production readiness through comprehensive testing strategies.

• Build reusable automation frameworks including UI and API automated scripts
• Maintain regression automation suite and reduce flaky tests
• Publish coverage and execution reports
• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps pipelines and enforce quality gates
• Configure PR/merge triggers and block faulty builds
• Design and execute load, stress, spike, and endurance tests
• Validate scalability under concurrency and measure latency, throughput, and resource usage
• Identify bottlenecks in app, database, API, and infrastructure layers
• Analyze SQL query plans and API latency
• Validate NFR compliance and performance thresholds
• Participate in Go/No-Go decisions and escalate risks when thresholds fail
• Manage test data and repeatable environments supporting Docker containerization

• 5+ years of automation and/or performance testing experience
• CI/CD experience in Azure enterprise environments
• Performance diagnostics and monitoring expertise
• Proficiency in Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
• API automation experience
• Scripting skills in C# or JavaScript
• Knowledge of POM and modular framework design
• Azure DevOps pipelines, build validation triggers, and quality gate configuration
• Proficiency with JMeter or k6 for performance testing
• Latency, throughput analysis, and capacity modeling skills
• Experience with Azure Monitor, App Insights, and log analysis
• SQL performance analysis and execution plan review capabilities
• Nice-to-have: ISTQB Test Automation Engineer certification, AZ-204, AZ-400, AZ-104, or AZ-305 certifications

You will own automation framework standards and coverage expectations, with authority to escalate performance risks. Collaboration with development and architecture teams is required for structural redesigns. You cannot change scope or bypass functional QA.
