Event Program Manager

Summary

TaskForce is seeking an Event Program Manager to lead programming execution for a summit convening thought leaders, legislators, and activists to confront hate in California. This role owns speaker coordination and content/program readiness, serving as the primary connective point between talent and the production team to ensure sessions reflect the summit’s mission.

What you'll do

  • Serve as the main liaison for speakers, panelists, and workshop leads; manage outreach, scheduling, briefings, and participation logistics.

  • Collect and manage speaker materials (bios, headshots) and ensure readiness ahead of the event.

  • Gather and deliver programming assets (presentation graphics, videos, talking points) to the production team on time.

  • Support moderators and panelists with context and materials for specific tracks and sessions.

  • Provide local liaison support at the San Francisco venue, coordinating with venue staff and community partners.

  • During the summit, manage the green room and speaker flow, keeping sessions on schedule.

  • Manage programming timelines and deliverables using project management tools.

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of experience in program coordination, event management, or community organizing.

  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with strong familiarity with local social justice and social impact communities.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; experience interfacing with high-level stakeholders, government offices, and grassroots organizers.

  • Strong understanding of social justice and anti-hate work, intersectionality, and community-led solutions; ability to suggest and vet mission-aligned speakers.

  • Proven project management ability to handle complex timelines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proactive, solutions-oriented attitude with a strong drive to deliver.

Conditions

  • Temporary, full-time independent contractor role.

  • Contract duration: 2 months, starting immediately; event takes place at the end of April.

  • Remote with frequent on-site requirements at the San Francisco venue.

  • Compensation is a fixed $8,000 for completion of deliverables; invoices may be submitted monthly or bi-weekly.
