Talent Advisor (HR Generalist) (contract)

Summary

Airbnb is seeking a contract Talent Advisor (HR Generalist) to support its Employee Experience delivery model across the Americas. The role delivers timely, accurate, high-quality HR services across the employee lifecycle and partners closely with business, HR/EX teams, and COEs to solve people matters and execute cyclical talent programs.

What you'll do

  • Partner with Business Talent teams to support the Employee Experience/People strategy for assigned business teams.
  • Serve as a key HR point of contact; assess employee/manager issues and determine and execute appropriate resolutions.
  • Develop strong understanding of business strategies, roadmaps, and how teams interrelate.
  • Intake, analyze, and execute solutions for a broad range of employee matters; collaborate with EX partners as needed.
  • Advise and coach managers and employees on people matters requiring functional guidance and intervention.
  • Build awareness and adoption of EX self-service support and enable employees to resolve inquiries independently when possible.
  • Partner with EX COEs to plan, manage, and support cyclical programs (performance management, compensation reviews, talent reviews, employee listening).
  • Provide process and content feedback to COEs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (including Legal) to ensure compliance with employment regulations and deliver strong client experience.
  • Identify trends and patterns; track KPIs/metrics to inform insights, proactive planning, and issue mitigation.
  • Maintain and update HR data accurately in Workday.
  • Promote and embed Airbnb Core Values and Diversity and Belonging across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience in fast-moving, high-growth, global companies.
  • Deep experience and knowledge across core HR disciplines (HR Operations, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Talent Management, Organization Design, Change Management).
  • Expertise in 2+ functional HR areas (e.g., HRBP, Compensation, Recruiting, Employee Relations, Talent Management).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to balance strategic perspective with detailed execution.
  • Well-developed investigative skills for sensitive employee issues and sound judgment for logical, high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to use and present data to influence leaders (headcount planning, attrition analytics, employee survey results).
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills; effective stakeholder management across levels, teams, functions, and regions.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing HR data.
  • Experience using Workday is highly preferred.
  • BA/BS in HR-related field required; MA/MS preferred; relevant specializations preferred (e.g., Organizational Behavior/Development, Employment Law, Compensation, Statistics, Business).

  • Pay rate range: $55–$67 per hour.
