Summary

Boston Legacy FC is Boston’s new professional women’s soccer team, launching in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in 2026. The Director of Stadium Operations is a senior leader responsible for planning and executing all stadium and game day operations across venues, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality event delivery. This role serves as the primary operations liaison with stadium partners and the league to deliver consistent matchday readiness and fan experience outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end stadium and event operations for home matches, ensuring game day readiness, coordination, and execution.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader and liaison for stadium partners (including Gillette Stadium, Centreville Bank Stadium, and White Stadium transition planning), ensuring service standards and contract compliance.
  • Provide senior leadership to staffing, vendors, and third-party providers supporting operations, security, maintenance, and crowd management.
  • Create, standardize, and implement game day operational plans aligned with fan experience expectations and organizational goals.
  • Oversee logistics for field access, broadcast needs, team arrivals/departures, support spaces (locker rooms, medical, officiating), and utilities coordination.
  • Ensure operational consistency and incident responsiveness across ticketing interfaces, guest services and recovery, parking, and transportation.
  • Act as the primary NWSL stadium operations liaison, ensuring compliance with league policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with Marketing, Facilities, Sporting, and Legal to interpret league requirements and embed them into operational plans and playbooks.
  • Prepare and present compliance documentation, event assessments, and post-event reports to internal leadership and NWSL stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans, risk assessments, and crisis protocols across all venues.
  • Plan and lead safety exercises, tabletop scenarios, and protocol trainings with staff, stadium partners, and public safety agencies.
  • Monitor operational risks including crowd dynamics and weather contingencies, and implement mitigations.
  • Coordinate with Facilities on infrastructure readiness, maintenance, utilities, and vendor services.
  • Align with Fan Experience and Marketing teams to support overall satisfaction and matchday experience delivery.
  • Liaise with Sporting leadership to support team operational needs, pre-game setups, and competitive environment requirements.
  • Support the VP of Facilities with budgeting, cost forecasting, and vendor negotiations.
  • Track performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend operational improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in stadium operations, venue management, event operations, or large-scale live event execution.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder environments and serve as an organizational liaison with external partners.
  • Familiarity with professional sports league operations standards and compliance expectations.
  • Strong strategic planning skills and sound operational judgment under pressure.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, cross-functional leadership style.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Preferred:

    • Experience in professional soccer and/or leagues such as NWSL, MLS, NFL, or major commercial venue operations.
    • Leadership experience in multi-venue operations or transitional stadium environments.
    • Background in safety protocol development, crowd management best practices, and emergency operations.

Conditions

  • Pay range: $100,000–$120,000 USD per year.
  • Schedule: Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
