Summary
Uber’s Global Investigations team combats organized and serious crime and addresses internal misconduct across the platform. The Investigator role manages the full lifecycle of internal and external investigations, using investigative data and tools to identify actionable outcomes and mitigate threats.
What you'll do
- Lead high-quality investigations into sophisticated global threats impacting the business and deliver timely results
- Develop actionable cases for internal partners and/or referral to law enforcement agencies
- Prioritize and execute targeted investigations focused on Uber’s highest priority threats
- Produce concise and comprehensive case reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Translate complex technical findings into clear language for diverse audiences, including law enforcement
- Identify vulnerabilities and develop innovative strategies and methods to mitigate risk and pinpoint bad actors
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and manage stakeholder expectations in a team environment
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience conducting investigations focused on fraud and criminal activity in law enforcement or corporate investigations
- Proficiency in investigative interviewing and writing clear, structured investigative reports
- Strong analytical skills, including ability to analyze large datasets to identify evidence and present findings
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proficiency with Google Suite
- Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python, or commitment to develop these skills
- Ability to leverage a network of contacts in the private sector and law enforcement
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and accommodate flexible hours
