Junior Benefits Specialist (Full Time 100% Remote)

Summary
Serco is seeking a Junior Benefits Specialist to support service members, veterans, and their families by answering phone and email inquiries related to military benefits. The role focuses on educating customers, researching DoD/VA policies, and documenting interactions while delivering empathetic, accurate guidance in a remote environment.
What you'll do
- Answer incoming calls and emails regarding administrative actions and military benefits.
- Identify and coordinate advocacy for veterans, active/reserve service members, and family members in relevant subject areas.
- Determine the nature of inquiries and provide accurate, concise answers.
- Provide requested information or refer clients to appropriate military or community resources.
- Communicate promptly and empathetically via phone and email.
- Become familiar with the Benefits Library on MyArmyBenefits and/or MyAirForceBenefits websites.
- Research and respond to complex questions requiring understanding of DoD and VA policies and regulations.
- Document all client interactions in a CRM system and provide researched, documented responses.
- If applicable, facilitate retirement estimate calculations using related software.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship.
- Ability to maintain/transfer an active NACI clearance; NACI submittal with favorable adjudication.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience administering benefits programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of VA benefits and compensation programs.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Active listening skills and ability to adapt communication to caller needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Customer service experience.
- Ability to work self-sufficiently and productively.
- Experience with military benefits (plus).
- Must provide own internet service and cell phone.
Conditions
- Full-time position.
- 100% remote in the National Capital Region.
- Work hours: 0800–1700 ET.
- Contingent upon ability to maintain/transfer an active NACI clearance.
