Food Specialist | $50/hr Remote

Crossing Hurdles is hiring a remote Food Specialist (Food Expert) on an hourly contract basis to support AI-related food and culinary work. The role focuses on creating and evaluating food tasks and reviewing AI-generated culinary content to ensure accuracy and real-world usefulness.

• Create and evaluate complex food-related tasks covering culinary knowledge, nutrition, food culture, and dining experiences.
• Review AI-generated food and culinary outputs for accuracy, practicality, and real-world relevance.
• Provide clear, structured written feedback on food-related recommendations and content.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and engineers to improve model performance.
• Ensure content aligns with culinary standards, nutrition principles, and food industry best practices.

• Strong personal or professional background in food, cooking, culinary arts, nutrition, or related industries.
• Solid understanding of food preparation, cuisines, dining cultures, and consumer preferences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail with practical, real-world judgment.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.

• Nice to have: experience in culinary arts, hospitality, food writing, or food content creation.
