Data Architect (Azure Platform) IRC279265

GlobalLogic is seeking a Data Architect for their Azure Platform to serve as the senior technical visionary for the Data Platform. You will be responsible for high-level design of the entire solution, ensuring it is scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term strategic goals. Your architectural decisions will form the technical foundation for the entire platform, from initial batch processing to future real-time streaming capabilities.

• Design and document complete, end-to-end data architecture encompassing data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics serving layers
• Make strategic decisions on the use of Azure services (ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Event Hubs) to meet both immediate MVP needs and future scalability requirements
• Establish data modeling standards, development best practices, and governance policies for the engineering team
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to data engineers and BI developers on complex technical challenges
• Clearly articulate the architectural vision, benefits, and trade-offs to technical teams, project managers, and senior business leaders

• Extensive experience designing and implementing large-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure
• Deep, expert-level understanding of the Azure data stack including ADF, Databricks, ADLS, Synapse, and Purview
• Mastery of data warehousing, data modeling (star schemas), data lakes, and both batch and streaming architectural patterns
• Ability to align technical solutions with long-term business strategy
• Nice-to-Have: Proficiency in Python/PySpark for creating architectural proofs-of-concept
• Nice-to-Have: Deep understanding of CI/CD for data platforms and experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep/Terraform)
• Nice-to-Have: Experience with AzureDevOps for BigData services
• Nice-to-Have: Experience with FinOps and optimizing Azure data services costs
