Summary
Jubilee Media is a digital media company on a mission to provoke understanding and create human connection through story-driven content. The Creative Director will lead the Creative team, elevate content across platforms, and develop new mission-aligned shows for young audiences. This role blends strategic vision, people leadership, and data-informed decision-making to drive high-performing productions.
What you'll do
- Define and own Jubilee’s creative vision and strategic content roadmap.
- Drive creative innovation by elevating existing shows and developing new mission-aligned series and pilots.
- Provide high-level guidance to department heads while empowering Senior Creatives to lead execution efficiently.
- Expand creative perspectives by incorporating audience diversity and emerging cultural trends.
- Implement a talent-first approach across productions, balancing quality and cost/prioritization.
- Support casting and post-production teams, leveraging networks of talent and agencies.
- Mentor and develop creative leaders, strengthening strategic thinking and management capability.
- Define success metrics for shows and pilots; assess performance and recommend iterative improvements.
- Use audience insights and YouTube analytics to guide programming, topics, and multi-platform distribution strategy.
- Maintain transparency on performance benchmarks to build accountability and continuous improvement.
- Own and manage creative budgets; balance risk-taking with financial discipline to maximize ROI.
- Collaborate with Finance, Brand Partnerships, and Creative to optimize costs, revenue streams, and scheduling.
- Make strategic decisions on prioritization and resource allocation; contribute to company-wide strategy.
- Partner with HR on recruiting and developing creative talent.
- Work cross-functionally with Production, Finance, Analytics, and Brand Partnerships to execute creative strategy.
Requirements
- Significant experience in YouTube or adjacent digital content, with ability to ideate and execute.
- Proven strategic prioritization skills, including making scale/pause/pivot decisions with financial impact in mind.
- Strong people leadership with a mentorship and empowerment approach; ability to grow creative leaders.
- Fluency in data-driven content strategy, audience insights, and performance analytics.
- Understanding of trends and content strategy across multiple platforms (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Spotify).
- Excellent communication skills to translate creative vision into actionable plans for teams and stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and cross-department operations with practical ROI awareness.
- Adaptable and comfortable experimenting, iterating, and pivoting while staying mission-aligned.
- Commitment to inclusive and diverse creative work that reflects the served audiences.
Conditions
Compensation: Competitive compensation listed as $150,000–$180,000 annually.
Work model: Hybrid; 3 days per week in the El Segundo office and 2 days remote (must be local or willing to relocate).
