People Business Partner (100% Remote)

Summary

ClearCaptions is an FCC-certified telephone captioning provider focused on improving communication and independence for seniors and people who are hard-of-hearing. The People Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supporting execution of the People strategy and strengthening leadership and engagement across designated business areas. This role partners with leaders and People Centers of Excellence to deliver scalable HR programs in a people-first, remote environment.

What you'll do

  • Partner with people leaders to execute People strategy aligned to team and business unit objectives, supporting a high-performing and values-aligned workforce.

  • Provide employee relations guidance including performance coaching, investigations, and conflict resolution; manage the full ER case lifecycle and escalate critical cases as needed.

  • Investigate and resolve complex/critical ER issues; ensure objective, timely investigations and document findings and recommendations.

  • Facilitate core people programs such as goal setting, performance evaluations, engagement initiatives, and employee recognition.

  • Coach leaders on developing employee strengths, improving team effectiveness, and fostering engagement.

  • Collaborate with People Centers of Excellence (Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver consistent HR solutions.

  • Develop, interpret, and apply company policies, labor laws, and employment practices to ensure compliance and fairness.

  • Track and report people metrics; support ad hoc reporting and workforce analysis.

  • Participate in or lead smaller-scale HR projects/pilots and support broader change initiatives.

  • Promote an inclusive culture by embedding DEI&B in interactions and processes.

  • Manage exit interviews within assigned business units; analyze trends and recommend retention and engagement improvements.

  • Stay current on HR best practices, employment law updates, and company policies; contribute to process improvements.

  • Provide training, interpretation, and counsel on performance standards and quality evaluations that drive performance and growth.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business or People team priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; BS/BA degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in a People Business Partner/HRBP role.

  • Experience supporting remote workforces in a multi-state environment (required).

  • Preferred experience supporting contact/service center and/or warehouse employee populations.

  • Experience building and leading HR programs, projects, and teams.

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (Dayforce a plus) and Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred.

  • Knowledge across employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compensation practices.

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.

  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers, facilitate ER conversations, and resolve day-to-day workplace issues.

  • Strong strategic/critical thinking and analytical skills to identify trends and develop solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presentation and facilitation skills.

  • Highly organized self-starter with strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a results-driven, team-oriented environment.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally overnight (up to 10%) and work flexible hours as needed.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US; no current or future visa sponsorship available.

Conditions

  • 100% remote/work from home; work performed in a home office/remote environment.

  • Reports to Manager, People Business Partners.

  • Occasional overnight travel up to 10% and flexible hours as needed.

  • Compensation range stated as $90,000–$100,000 annually; benefits available via company total rewards program (details referenced on employer site).
