Senior FS Engineer ( Backend Heavy)

Commit Offshore is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to build a conversational AI platform. You will own both the frontend conversational UI and backend integration, connecting modern Next.js interfaces with AI agent workflows and real-time data streams.

Frontend / UX:

• Build a modern conversational interface in Next.js (App Router) with chat panel, streaming AI responses, and message history
• Implement dynamic artifact viewer area (file tree, previews, details) that updates as the agent creates or modifies assets
• Create responsive, multi-panel layouts for desktop and mobile
• Optimize rendering and state management for long-lived sessions and many messages
• Implement infinite scrolling and pagination patterns

Backend:

• Design and implement REST/GraphQL APIs with validation and versioning
• Build real-time/streaming delivery using SSE, WebSockets, or fetch streaming
• Design data models and manage persistence with Postgres/SQL or NoSQL
• Implement async workflows with queues, retries, and idempotency
• Handle authentication, security, and production readiness (logging, metrics, tracing)

Full-Stack Integration:

• Implement API routes for sending messages, fetching artifacts, and managing state
• Integrate frontend with backend agentic flows and tool calls
• Apply caching and revalidation strategies (ISR/ISG, SWR, edge caching)
• Collaborate on data contracts and event formats

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with Next.js (preferably App Router) and modern React
• Experience building interactive UIs such as chat interfaces, dashboards, or IDE-like tools
• Familiarity with streaming responses (SSE, fetch streams), state management patterns, and web performance optimization
• Experience integrating frontend with backend APIs
• Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate development
• Experience building conversational AI interfaces, copilots, or agent-based products
• Exposure to LLM concepts such as function calling, RAG, or vector search

Preferred Skills:

• Strong backend engineering experience (Node.js + TypeScript)
• Data modeling and persistence (Postgres/SQL and/or NoSQL), migrations, indexing
• Async workflows (SQS/RabbitMQ/Kafka/BullMQ)
• OAuth/JWT, RBAC, and secrets management
• Experience with Tailwind, component libraries, or design systems
• Experience with developer tools or builder-style products
