What you'll do

Supervise on-site substation construction activities including civil, structural, and electrical installation. Plan daily and weekly work schedules and allocate resources. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to meet milestones. Conduct job briefings and toolbox talks. Review technical documents and verify correct equipment installation. Oversee testing and commissioning. Maintain detailed documentation and tracking. Develop construction schedules. Report daily progress updates. Forecast material needs. Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance. Mentor and evaluate field staff. Approve timesheets and ensure workforce utilization.

Requirements

Minimum 8-10 years substation construction experience with at least 3 years in supervisory role. Strong knowledge of transmission/distribution systems, electrical equipment, and construction methods. Familiarity with OSHA, NESC, NEC standards. Ability to plan work sequences and coordinate multiple trades. English proficiency for reading safety materials and writing reports. Physical capability to work outdoors in extreme weather, stand extended periods, climb, and lift 50 lbs occasionally. Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces.
