REMOTE - HR Representative
Summary
Ross Stores, Inc. (promoted via Lensa/DirectEmployers) is seeking an HR Representative to support associates during Leave of Absence (LOA) periods. The role focuses on accurate LOA administration, compliance with applicable laws and company policies, and delivering a high-quality associate customer service experience.
What you'll do
- Process LOA transactions using ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, Sedgwick ViaOne, case management tools, and Excel (including uploads, approvals/denials, benefit elections, adjustments, and corrections).
- Respond to associate inquiries via phone and email; manage LOA inbox and 800# voicemail.
- Review and process Pay and Benefits forms; generate cases, letters, reports, and communications (e.g., benefit payment/exhaust process).
- Coordinate with internal partners and vendors (e.g., Payroll, Benefits, HR Services) to ensure smooth LOA administration and timely issue resolution.
- Explain LOA-related policies and procedures to associates across multiple states/locations and direct them to policy resources.
- Document and gather critical case data (e.g., case notes, LOA dates) to support compliance, legal defense, and legal hold responses.
- Provide reporting to track and monitor departmental workload and performance.
- Cross-train and provide backup support to other LOA team members; assist with training and process improvements as needed.
- Maintain ongoing professional development by staying current on company, state, and federal guideline changes and required trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
Preferred: LOA administration experience and knowledge of relevant federal/state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CA CFRA, Pregnancy, Military).
Ability to work independently or as part of a team; exercise sound judgment on complex and sensitive issues.
High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to learn quickly and ask clarifying questions.
Proficiency with online systems and databases; working knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills; proficiency with PeopleSoft preferred.
Familiarity with HR systems and with Benefits and Payroll practices.
Reliable attendance and timeliness; ability to work primarily on a computer in an office/remote environment.
Conditions
Remote role within the United States; not eligible to be performed in the State of Colorado or in New York City.
Base pay range: $22.69–$32.79 per hour (varies by experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location).
Work involves extensive computer use, phone/email communication, and participation in in-person and remote meetings.
