What you'll do
- Lead dynamic online tutoring sessions for K-5 students.
- Support elementary math and ELA instruction aligned to student needs.
- Communicate student educational progress with students and families.
- Plan and prepare for tutoring sessions (paid preparation time).
- Participate in paid onboarding training and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain consistent weekly availability during required prime-time hours, including weekends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or at least one full academic year as the lead teacher in a consistent elementary school classroom.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and current U.S. residence.
- Earn 90% or better on a timed assessment demonstrating ability to support elementary math and ELA.
- Reliable high-speed internet (ethernet connection recommended/required) and a quiet, professional workspace.
- Computer meeting minimum requirements: Mac/PC laptop or desktop; Mac OS X 10.6+ or Windows 8.1+; 4GB+ available RAM.
- Ability to commit to the same hours of availability week-on-week, including weekday afternoons/evenings and at least 8 weekend hours.
- Commitment to a minimum of one year of employment.
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check.
Conditions
- Remote role; W-2 employment.
- Pay: $20/hour for instruction (tutoring); prep and training time paid at $10/hour or local minimum wage (whichever is higher).
- Part-time targets: 12 delivery hours with 16 hours availability or 20 delivery hours with 24 hours availability; includes evenings and weekends; availability posted in 4+ hour chunks; must include at least 8 weekend hours.
- Full-time targets: 30 delivery hours with 38 availability or 35 delivery hours with 43 availability; includes evenings and weekends.
- Prime-time hours vary by season and day (school year and summer) and are listed in Eastern Time.
- Time-off requests submitted 4 weeks in advance.
