Director, Procurement
Summary
ANDMORE is a wholesale market maker that connects buyers and sellers through physical markets, design centers, and digital channels. The Director of Procurement will build and lead the enterprise procurement function to support a multi-campus, capital-intensive organization by driving disciplined sourcing, governance, and cost optimization. This role partners closely with Finance and cross-functional leaders to strengthen vendor relationships, mitigate risk, and align procurement with financial and operational goals.
What you'll do
- Design and launch the enterprise procurement operating model, including policies, workflows, governance standards, and performance metrics.
- Align sourcing decisions with financial planning, capital investments, and long-term growth objectives; serve as the primary procurement authority across the organization.
- Define governance frameworks, approval thresholds, delegation of authority, escalation paths, and internal control standards in partnership with Finance and Legal.
- Ensure procurement practices align with audit requirements, risk management standards, and corporate policies.
- Design and implement an enterprise purchase order (PO) process, including requisitioning, approvals, tracking, and day-to-day execution during early-stage maturity.
- Partner with Finance and IT to evaluate, implement, and optimize procurement and procure-to-pay (P2P) systems over time.
- Develop category-level sourcing strategies across direct and indirect spend (e.g., professional services, facilities, marketing, IT, capital projects, operations).
- Lead RFPs, competitive bidding events, and vendor negotiations to secure strong commercial terms, service levels, and risk protections.
- Collaborate with Legal on contract structure, renewals, and compliance with corporate standards.
- Establish vendor management including onboarding, performance metrics, risk assessment, and renewal governance; manage the most strategic suppliers.
- Rationalize the vendor base where appropriate to improve leverage, consistency, and efficiency.
- Build spend visibility and analytics; identify savings, demand-management strategies, and cost-avoidance initiatives; track and report realized savings.
- Lead enterprise cost optimization while maintaining service levels; support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with market intelligence and pricing trends.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, including success standing up or transforming a procurement function.
- Ability to operate as a strategic, hands-on individual contributor in a lean environment without dedicated staff support.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders and stakeholders without formal authority.
- Experience managing complex vendor portfolios across multi-state, multi-facility, or capital-intensive environments.
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, cost modeling, and supplier management.
- Enterprise mindset with strong financial and operational acumen; exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to create structure and clarity in ambiguous environments; data-driven decision-making and strong analytical capabilities.
- High integrity, sound judgment, and comfort operating with executive-level visibility.
