Summary

Martell Media (part of the Martell Group) builds story-driven content across media and related ventures in B2B SaaS and AI. The Video Editor role is responsible for turning raw footage into compelling narratives that drive emotion and action across YouTube, social, podcasts, and courses. This position reports to the Creative Director and emphasizes creative leadership in a fast-paced media team.

What you'll do

  • Edit short- and long-form videos for YouTube, social media, podcasts, and online courses.
  • Add transitions, titles, captions, color correction, audio cleanup, and pacing aligned to platform best practices.
  • Apply creative storytelling techniques to elevate raw footage.
  • Incorporate motion graphics, music, and sound design consistent with brand voice.
  • Collaborate with directors, producers, and talent to deliver final cuts.
  • Contribute to creative planning (brainstorming, scripting, content layout).
  • Participate in reviews, feedback sessions, and postmortems.
  • Organize and manage media libraries, B-roll, templates, and assets.
  • Maintain consistency in brand style, color palette, and design across content.
  • Export and deliver final videos in multiple formats and resolutions for various channels.
  • Stay current with digital media trends and platform-specific editing requirements.
  • Use performance metrics (CTR, watch time, engagement) to adapt editing approaches.
  • Deliver projects on time and meet internal creative and strategic standards.

Requirements

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in video editing for online platforms.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, or comparable tools.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both short-form (e.g., reels) and long-form (e.g., YouTube) edits.
  • Deep understanding of pacing, structure, and video storytelling.
  • Strong time management and file organization skills.
  • Comfort with fast feedback loops and managing multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in Kelowna, BC.

Preferred

  • Experience editing for personal brands, coaches, or high-growth media startups.
  • Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, and/or color grading workflows.
  • Light graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Interest in personal development, entrepreneurship, or the creator economy.

Conditions

  • Compensation: $80,000 per year (converted to approximately $6,667 per month).
  • Work type: Full-time; stated as in-person/on-site in Kelowna, BC.
  • Location eligibility note in posting: Remote listed as US and Canada, but role requirements specify on-site in Kelowna, BC.
  • Reporting line: Reports to the Creative Director.
  • Environment: Fast-paced team with quick feedback cycles and multiple deadlines.
