Summary
GovCIO is hiring an Agile Scrum Master to support the Readiness and Employment System (RES) contract in a fully remote role. The position leads and coaches an Agile team to follow Scrum practices, remove blockers, and continuously improve delivery outcomes.
What you'll do
- Serve as servant-leader for an Agile team, ensuring adherence to Scrum practices and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and events, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other meetings.
- Remove impediments and help resolve blockers by coordinating with the right stakeholders.
- Coach the team on Agile/Scrum principles, self-organization, and cross-functionality.
- Partner with the Product Owner to manage and refine the Product Backlog and improve backlog management techniques.
- Plan and execute sprints with the Product Owner and development team; maintain focus and productivity during sprints.
- Create and maintain project timelines; monitor progress against project goals.
- Identify, manage, and communicate risks; improve communication between the team and external stakeholders.
- Shield the team from external distractions and act as a liaison to foster trust and collaboration.
- Guide team and organization in improving processes and overall effectiveness over time.
Requirements
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of experience.
- Agile: Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Conceptual clarity: Ability to explain intricate and complicated concepts and ideas.
- Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain Suitability of Public Trust clearance.
- Preferred: Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Preferred: SAFe certification.
