VP/Principal, Investment Team

Summary

Bloom Equity Partners is a technology-focused private equity firm headquartered in NYC investing in lower-middle market enterprise software and business services through control investments. The VP/Principal will lead deals end-to-end and drive value creation across portfolio companies while expanding relationships across management teams, intermediaries, and investors.

What you'll do

  • Source enterprise software and business services buyout opportunities via proprietary research, intermediary relationships, and direct outreach to founders/CEOs.
  • Lead thematic research in targeted technology sub-segments to refine investment theses and target profiles.
  • Run quantitative and qualitative due diligence, coordinating internal teams and external advisors (legal, financial, commercial, technical).
  • Oversee transaction execution deliverables including financial models, investment committee memoranda, investor materials, diligence frameworks, and lender presentations.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with management teams, advisors, co-investors, financing partners, and build a deep sector network.
  • Lead negotiations for key transaction documentation with internal/external counsel support.
  • Support structuring and raising debt financing with lenders and capital markets advisors.
  • Engage with portfolio company boards and lead post-closing value creation workstreams, strategic initiatives, and board materials.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and risk; prepare and present deal updates by stage to the investment committee.
  • Mentor associates and analysts on modeling, diligence management, and professional development.
  • Support fundraising and LP relations through investor relationship-building, fund reporting, LP meetings, and co-invest processes.
  • Contribute to firm-building initiatives, client-related activities, and internal strategic planning.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of progressive private equity investment experience; ideally 2–3 years prior in investment banking or management consulting.
  • Proven track record leading lower-middle market enterprise software/business services buyouts, including exits or value creation milestones.
  • Ability to independently lead deal processes from origination through close.
  • Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills; strong understanding of accounting, capital structures, and debt financing.
  • Strong relationships with intermediaries, investment bankers, operators, and advisors in the enterprise software ecosystem.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to engage credibly with founders, C-suite executives, board members, and limited partners.
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial leadership style suited to a small, high-autonomy team environment.
  • MBA from a top-tier university preferred.
