REMOTE - HR Representative
Summary
Ross Stores, Inc. (promoted via Lensa) is seeking an HR Representative to provide administrative and support services for associates taking a Leave of Absence (LOA). The role focuses on accurate leave administration, compliance with applicable laws and company policy, and delivering a high-quality associate support experience.
What you'll do
- Process LOA transactions using ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, Sedgwick ViaOne, case management tools, and Excel (approvals/denials, benefit elections, corrections, cases, letters).
- Respond to associate inquiries via email/phone, manage the LOA inbox, and monitor the LOA voicemail line.
- Review and process Pay and Benefits forms and related documentation.
- Communicate with internal partners (Payroll, Benefits, HR Services) and external vendors to resolve questions and ensure smooth administration.
- Explain LOA policies and procedures to associates across multiple states and locations and guide them to self-service resources.
- Gather and document critical case data (notes, dates, status) to support compliance, legal holds, and audits.
- Create reports and letters (including benefit payment/exhaust communications) and provide reporting to help monitor department work.
- Cross-train and provide backup support to other LOA team members; assist with training/process improvement efforts as needed.
- Stay current on federal/state guideline changes, complete company training, and maintain system and process proficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners.
Preferred: experience administering Leaves of Absence and knowledge of applicable federal and state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CA CFRA, pregnancy, military).
Ability to work independently or collaboratively; exercise sound judgment on complex and sensitive issues; willingness to learn and ask questions.
High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to use online systems and databases.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficiency with Excel and PeopleSoft.
Familiarity with HR systems and with benefits and payroll practices.
Conditions
Remote role within the United States; cannot be performed in the State of Colorado or in New York City.
Office/computer-based work; requires regular attendance and consistent timeliness.
Physical requirements include sitting/standing/walking, phone communication, typing, attending in-person and remote meetings, and reading printed/electronic information.
Pay range stated as $22.69–$32.79 per hour (total compensation may vary by location and other factors).
