Supply Chain Director

Carolina Foods, Inc., a long-standing manufacturer of Duchess Brand sweet baked goods, is hiring a Supply Chain Director to lead end-to-end supply chain operations. The role owns strategic design and daily execution across planning, procurement, logistics, warehousing, distribution, and customer service to support growth while improving service levels, inventory performance, and cost control.

• Lead end-to-end supply chain function including inventory control, supply/demand planning, logistics, warehousing, distribution, procurement, and customer service management.
• Develop long-term sourcing and supply network strategies while managing weekly planning, service levels, inventory performance, and cost control.
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, freight procurement, carrier relationships, and 3PL partners where applicable.
• Ensure efficient warehouse operations (receiving, storage, picking, shipping) and lead warehouse managers, supervisors, and material handlers.
• Optimize freight cost, on-time delivery, and distribution network efficiency.
• Oversee supply and demand planning and materials requirements planning (MRP).
• Monitor inventory accuracy, turns, aging, and cycle counts; implement corrective actions.
• Align production schedules with forecasts and customer needs to minimize backorders and excess inventory.
• Lead weekly supply review and execution meetings to resolve constraints and adjust plans.
• Lead customer service operations to improve fill rates, order accuracy, and communication; establish service metrics and escalation processes.
• Partner with Sales to balance customer service expectations with operational constraints.
• Design sourcing strategies for ingredients and packaging; manage supplier selection, negotiations, risk mitigation, and cost optimization.
• Establish S&OP processes aligning commercial forecasts with production capacity and inventory targets.
• Build inventory optimization models balancing working capital, service level, and spoilage/obsolescence risk.
• Implement systems, KPIs, and reporting dashboards across procurement, inventory, logistics, and customer service.
• Manage supplier performance through scorecards, SLAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field.

• 5+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in manufacturing, food production, or CPG.

• Experience overseeing procurement, planning, logistics, warehousing, and customer service functions.

• Strong financial acumen, including managing budgets, working capital, and cost reduction initiatives.

• Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/MRP systems.

• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels; strong analytical and cross-functional leadership capability.
