REMOTE - HR Representative
Summary
Ross Stores, Inc. (promoted via Lensa/DirectEmployers) is an off-price retail company with nationwide operations. The HR Representative supports associates during Leave of Absence (LOA) by administering leave transactions, answering inquiries, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The role focuses on accurate processing, strong customer service, and effective coordination with internal partners and vendors.
What you'll do
Process LOA transactions using ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, Sedgwick ViaOne, case management tools, and Excel (upload/enter approvals, denials, benefit elections; make adjustments/corrections; generate cases, letters, and reports).
Manage and respond to LOA inbox emails and 800# voicemail; handle inquiries and provide customer support to associates and other clients.
Communicate with associates, management, vendors, and internal partners (e.g., Payroll, Benefits, HR Services) by phone/email to coordinate leave administration and resolve issues.
Explain LOA policies and procedures for various states/locations and guide associates on where to find resources.
Review and process Pay and Benefits forms and related documentation.
Gather and document critical case data/notes and support compliance activities, including assisting with legal holds as needed.
Provide reporting to track and monitor department work.
Cross-train, provide backup support, and assist with training/process improvements as needed.
Maintain proficiency in systems and stay current on company, state, and federal guideline changes and required training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Skills: Strong customer service, communication (verbal/written), problem-solving, accuracy/attention to detail, ability to work independently or in a team, sound judgment with sensitive issues.
Technical: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficiency with Excel and PeopleSoft; ability to use online systems/databases; familiarity with HR systems plus Benefits and Payroll practices.
Preferred experience: Leave of Absence administration and knowledge of federal/state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CA CFRA, Pregnancy, Military).
Other: Consistent timeliness and regular attendance; ability to work primarily on a computer in an office/remote environment (sitting/standing/walking, phone use, typing).
Conditions
Work arrangement: Remote within the United States; not eligible to be performed in the State of Colorado or New York City.
Compensation: Base pay range stated as $22.69–$32.79 per hour; total rewards vary by position and location.
Environment: Primarily computer-based work; participation in in-person and remote meetings as needed.
