PMO Manager

Summary

The PMO Manager leads enterprise project execution for MCG’s Enclosure portfolio, focusing on mission-critical data center and hyperscale programs. The role ensures projects are delivered with predictability while protecting safety, quality, uptime, reliability, and customer commitments. This position partners closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, and construction to balance scope, capacity, risk, and margin discipline.

What you'll do

  • Provide strategic leadership and governance for the Enclosure project portfolio (data center and hyperscale customer programs).
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by documenting and translating requirements, SLAs, schedules, and quality expectations into executable plans.
  • Enforce standardized project management methodologies, controls, and stage gates for mission-critical delivery.
  • Partner with operations/manufacturing to align commitments with capacity, labor, materials, and production sequencing.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and field execution to achieve on-time delivery.
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, cost control, and resource allocation for large-scale, fast-track programs.
  • Implement portfolio management discipline to manage concurrent programs, prevent resource overload, and reprioritize quickly as needs shift.
  • Monitor project health, risks, and dependencies; communicate proactively with executives and customers.
  • Establish escalation pathways to resolve issues rapidly and protect delivery commitments.
  • Define, measure, and report mission-critical KPIs (schedule adherence, customer satisfaction, quality, safety, change velocity, margin performance).
  • Create executive and customer-facing scorecards linking project performance to customer outcomes and business objectives.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers; build capability in executive communication, risk-based decisions, and customer engagement.
  • Drive continuous improvement for execution predictability, customer experience, and operational scalability.
  • Evaluate and deploy PM tools that integrate with ERP/manufacturing/scheduling systems to improve visibility and responsiveness.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with hyperscale customers and key partners.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks tied to schedule volatility, design changes, supply chain disruption, and capacity constraints.
  • Stay current on data center and hyperscale delivery trends and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, including 3+ years leading mission-critical or large-scale industrial programs.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering data center, hyperscale, or other mission-critical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong customer-facing leadership experience with hyperscale or enterprise customers.
  • Ability to balance customer advocacy with scope control, operational capacity, and margin accountability.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional executive-level written and verbal communication skills; able to engage customers, executives, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Proven track record coaching project managers in complex, customer-visible environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with PM/scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • People leadership experience: leading and developing Project Managers/Project Coordinators; performance management and development planning; partnering with HR to recruit/onboard/retain talent.
