Human Resources Generalist

Summary

ExamWorks is a healthcare services provider supporting clients with independent medical examinations, compliance, case management, and related solutions. The Human Resources Generalist role supports day-to-day HR operations in a fully remote capacity, serving as a primary contact for HR inquiries and ensuring smooth employee lifecycle processes.

What you'll do

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure smooth employee transitions
  • Coordinate with IT and HRIS teams for timely system setup, access, and accurate employee data
  • Run payroll reports, reconcile discrepancies, respond to employee payroll inquiries, and prepare documentation
  • Serve as the primary contact for routine HR questions related to payroll, benefits, and leaves
  • Monitor and track employee leaves (including FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leaves) and coordinate required documentation
  • Prepare compliance materials and reports for audits, client questionnaires, and RFPs
  • Maintain data integrity by updating employee information in HRIS and generating reports as needed
  • Support HR Business Partners with employee relations matters, investigations, counseling, and corrective actions
  • Oversee hiring requisition workflow, verify approvals, and confirm compensation aligns with company standards
  • Coordinate performance management activities and communicate timelines and expectations
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, including team-building and recognition programs
  • Monitor completion of mandatory training and compliance requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support HR operations and organizational goals

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a relevant field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR coordination, HR operations, or related roles
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems; Paycom preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and compliance
  • Knowledge of basic HR practices, payroll processes, and compliance standards
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving skills, and resilience under pressure
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures, including updates and changes
