REMOTE - HR Representative
Summary
Ross Stores, Inc. is a leading off-price retail chain with over 2,200 stores and a focus on delivering branded merchandise at significant savings. The HR Representative administers and supports associates during Leave of Absence (LOA), ensuring compliant, accurate processing and a high-quality associate experience using HR systems and strong customer service.
What you'll do
- Process LOA transactions using ServiceNow, PeopleSoft, Sedgwick ViaOne, case management tools, and Excel (including approvals/denials, benefit elections, adjustments, and corrections).
- Respond to associate inquiries via phone and email, manage the LOA inbox, and check/respond to LOA voicemail.
- Upload and enter LOA-related data, generate new cases, letters, and reports (e.g., benefit payment/exhaust communications).
- Review and process Pay and Benefits forms and coordinate with vendors and internal partners (Payroll, Benefits, HR Services).
- Explain Ross LOA policies and direct associates to resources for future reference across multiple states/locations.
- Gather and document critical case information (e.g., case notes, LOA dates) to support compliance and legal matters; assist with legal holds.
- Provide reporting to track and monitor departmental work and service levels.
- Cross-train, provide backup coverage to LOA team members, and support process improvements and/or training evaluation.
- Stay current on changes to company, state, and federal guidelines; complete required training and maintain system proficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree.
Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to build positive relationships with internal and external partners.
Preferred: Leave of Absence administration experience and knowledge of applicable federal and state leave laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, CA CFRA, pregnancy, military leave).
Ability to work independently and within a team; exercise judgment on complex and sensitive issues; willingness to learn and ask questions.
Detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; proficiency with Excel and PeopleSoft.
Familiarity with HR systems and benefits/payroll practices.
Conditions
Remote position; may be performed anywhere in the United States except the State of Colorado and New York City.
Work is primarily computer-based in an office environment; requires sitting/standing/walking, phone communication, typing, and participation in in-person and remote meetings.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance required.
Compensation posted as an hourly base pay range of $22.69–$32.79 (total rewards vary by position and location).
