The PR Assistant (Events & Entertainment) supports entertainment clients and programs by maintaining media resources, monitoring culture and news cycles, and providing administrative and event logistics support to help drive successful publicity campaigns.
What you'll do
Build, maintain, and strategically categorize accurate media lists across entertainment trades, national news, and lifestyle outlets.
Monitor news cycles and social media to identify pop culture moments, competitor updates, and breaking industry news relevant to clients.
Support account operations by preparing meeting agendas, drafting meeting recaps, producing activity reports, and updating budget trackers.
Provide logistics support for client meetings and events, including scheduling, RSVP management, and on-site staffing for premieres, screenings, and press junkets as needed.
Serve as a professional point of contact for guests and vendors; assist with light office duties such as preparing conference rooms or rooftop spaces for meetings.
Learn integrated communications approaches (talent, social, media relations) and contribute to team collaboration with a relationship-driven mindset.
Requirements
Approximately 1 year of experience in marketing, entertainment, or public relations.
Clear understanding of the entertainment PR arena and strong interest in entertainment publicity.
Strong writing skills: able to take detailed notes and produce concise recaps, pitches, and industry trend reports.
High emotional intelligence and professionalism; able to communicate effectively with senior staff and stay calm under pressure.
Exceptional organization and attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Collaborative, inclusive team style with integrity and strong relationship-building skills.
Willingness to work select evenings and weekends when events or projects require added support.
Conditions
Nonexempt role; eligible for overtime.
