Summary
Devexperts is seeking an Applications Support Engineer (Level 3) to join their team. This role involves managing sophisticated trading/finance software infrastructure, maintaining cloud and bare metal instances, and providing critical 24/7 support for production environments.
What you'll do
- Work closely with Support, QA and Development teams for setting up, configuring and maintaining applications as part of the infrastructure
- Deploy, install, configure and maintain sophisticated Trading/Finance and related software
- Configure bare metal and cloud instances to host various types of applications
- Administer UNIX/Linux OS installation, configuration and maintenance
- Deploy and configure cloud-based servers, provision servers and storage, configure firewalls, VPN, and monitoring
- Install and manage monitoring systems
- Implement automation activities to eliminate routine tasks
- Troubleshoot problems in testing and production environments
- Communicate with clients and partner companies on technical subjects
- Participate in on-call support rotation for 24/7 coverage
- Guide and mentor Tier II engineers
- Share knowledge within and across teams
Requirements
Must-have skills:
- 3+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux administration
- Experience working as a Tier III Support engineer
- Strong OS-level administration on Linux and/or UNIX
- Experience with Amazon compute cloud
- Hands-on scripting with Bash, Python, and/or Groovy
- In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP and ISO/OSI stack
- Experience with Apache, Nginx, HAproxy, Envoy, etc.
- Experience with networking (routing, IP, TCP, UDP, DNS)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Zabbix, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Grafana, Kibana, Dynatrace, Prometheus)
- Ability to read and analyze application errors
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Understanding of ITIL processes
- Good command of English (written and verbal)
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of IP Multicast
- Experience with cluster technologies and high availability systems
- SQL command language experience
- Ansible experience
- Java programming knowledge
- Trading/exchange/risk management software experience
- Atlassian software experience (JIRA, Confluence)
