Curriculum Specialist (K-12 Literacy) - Mountain West

The K-12 Literacy Curriculum Specialist supports the Mountain West territory by partnering with sales and product teams to advance literacy solutions through the full sales cycle and post-sales activation. The role focuses on building relationships with district and state decision-makers, delivering presentations and training, and ensuring customer success.

What you'll do

  • Contribute to meeting and exceeding regional revenue targets in the Mountain West territory.
  • Create and deliver presentations and support across customer touch points, including exhibits and conferences, workshops, meetings and campaigns, sales presentations, pilot trainings, and program activations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key PK-12 decision-makers (school, district, regional, and state).
  • Gather customer feedback and relay insights to sales, product, and marketing teams to improve offerings and strategies.
  • Maintain current expertise on Savvas products and services via internal certification and training.
  • Provide product activation training for new and existing customer accounts.
  • Facilitate professional learning workshops for districts and at conferences.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Savvas literacy solutions (print and digital).
  • Collaborate with sales, services, and product management to resolve customer satisfaction issues and support overall customer success.
  • Provide timely customer support throughout the sales cycle and post-activation; route issues to appropriate internal teams as needed.
  • Deliver consistently high levels of customer service to foster satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Monitor and manage timekeeping and expenses in accordance with company travel and expense policies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of K-12 education experience, including classroom teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Specialty training or advanced certification preferred.
  • Strong experience in PK-12 literacy education with understanding of curriculum standards and frameworks, assessment, and intervention practices.
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations and product orientations to large and small groups.
  • Experience engaging with district administrators and other decision-makers.
  • Sales-driven mindset with ability to meet and exceed revenue targets; prior education market selling/servicing desirable.
  • Strong communication skills across PK-12 roles (e.g., superintendents to paraprofessionals).
  • Organizational and project management skills; ability to work independently as a self-starter.
  • Strategic understanding of sales campaign strategy, market trends, and services portfolio.
  • Strong technology skills with proficiency using presentation software/hardware (PC or Mac), whiteboard technology, and 1:1 devices for virtual and in-person presentations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • English required; Spanish proficiency is a plus (not required).

Conditions

  • Territory coverage: Mountain West (includes AK, AZ, CO, ID, KS, MT, ND, NE, NV, UT, SD, OR, WA, WY).
  • Preferred residence: Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ.
  • Travel: approximately 40–60% within the territory, including overnight stays; may include evenings and weekends; occasional travel to other territories.
  • Schedule flexibility required to adjust travel plans on short notice based on business needs.
