Social Content Associate

Summary

CARAA and Mercado Famous are building communities around fashion and consumer products and are seeking a Social Content Associate to help tell their story. This role leads photography and short-form video content creation for social channels to drive engagement and revenue. You will create and deliver platform-optimized content in a fast-paced, feedback-driven environment.

What you'll do

  • Film and edit short-form, social-first videos for Instagram Reels and TikTok during in-office content days.

  • Capture product features, styling videos, behind-the-scenes moments, trend-based content, and founder-led clips.

  • Edit and deliver multiple pieces of content per filming day optimized for each platform.

  • Work on-site to film content using an iPhone and simple production tools (tripods, ring lights, microphones).

  • Attend photoshoots, launches, and content days to capture behind-the-scenes footage and real-time social assets.

  • Document day-to-day brand moments and turn them into engaging social content.

  • Stay current on TikTok and Instagram trends and adapt relevant formats and sounds for the brands.

  • Contribute ideas for new social concepts and recurring content formats.

  • Collaborate with social media and marketing teams to align content with launches and campaigns.

  • Ensure content reflects each brand’s voice, aesthetic, and social strategy.

  • Support founders or team members with casual, on-the-fly social content as needed.

Requirements

  • Portfolio submission required with application.

  • 1–3 years of experience creating social content for brands, creators, or personal platforms.

  • Strong comfort filming and editing short-form video (iPhone and/or camera).

  • Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and current social trends.

  • Working knowledge of editing/design tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva, and/or Photoshop.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple content needs across two brands.

  • Ability to work in the NYC office on scheduled days and attend shoots as needed.

  • Preferred: experience with fashion, lifestyle, food, or consumer brands.

  • Preferred: strong eye for visual storytelling and pacing; comfort capturing candid behind-the-scenes moments.

Conditions

  • Full-time hourly position.

  • Must be physically located in New York City and based out of the NYC office.
