Summary
The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art (opening September 2026 in Exposition Park) is dedicated to illustrated storytelling and is building awareness and excitement ahead of launch. The Coordinator, Marketing & Communications supports the Communications and Marketing division by coordinating projects, schedules, content, reporting, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated campaigns and communications.
What you'll do
Support the Communications and Marketing team in developing and implementing strategies to promote exhibitions, public programs, collections, development, and other initiatives.
Coordinate project management across the division to keep activities connected, aligned, and on track.
Manage production schedules for communications and marketing deliverables and ensure deadlines are met.
Assist with creating content for the museum website and social media channels.
Help create and distribute reports (press coverage, website/social analytics, advertising, and other activity reporting).
Assist with creating and distributing materials such as emails, press releases, signage, and event collateral.
Ensure communications and marketing initiatives are communicated thoroughly internally.
Participate in onboarding, setup, and management of the museum CRM system.
Support execution of programs and events (community activations, booths, press events, public programs, photo/video shoots) including outreach plans, email communications, onsite signage, and logistics.
Coordinate production, management, and distribution of branded items.
Provide operational and administrative support (ordering supplies, facilitating contracts, liaising with partner contacts).
Schedule meetings and send agendas and follow-ups for division-hosted meetings.
Maintain a centralized archive of print and digital communications.
Track and report on the division budget.
Lead onboarding processes for new staff.
Support other division activities and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Design, Business, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
3–5 years of related experience (nonprofit, arts, museum, advertising, communications, design, or similar).
Knowledge of traditional and digital communications and marketing tools.
Experience with CRM systems, email communication tools (e.g., Mailchimp), project management tools, digital asset management, and website CMS platforms.
Strong content creation capability for web and social; social media content experience desired.
Adobe Creative Suite experience desired; photography/videography skills are a plus.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with project management tools such as Airtable, Asana, Quickbase, or similar.
Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills; high attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, consolidate feedback, and perform well under competing priorities.
Integrity, confidentiality, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Interest in museums, art, and culture; alignment with diversity, equity, accessibility, inclusion, and belonging values.
Conditions
Hourly compensation listed at $23–$29 per hour (exact rate commensurate with education and experience); attractive compensation package noted.
Location: Exposition Park area; role supports activities leading up to and after the museum opening (September 2026).
Work includes coordination of events and programs such as community activations, press events, and photo/video shoots.
