Content Creator

SusieCakes Bakery creates nostalgic, old-fashioned desserts baked from scratch daily, guided by the purpose of “Connecting through Celebration.” The Content Creator will produce high-volume short-form video for TikTok and Instagram Reels to grow brand awareness, reach new audiences, and bring the brand’s joyful personality to life.

• Create short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram Reels.
• Film, edit, and deliver high-quality videos consistently.
• Execute against a monthly content calendar while pitching original trend- and culture-inspired concepts.
• Collaborate with Susie Sarich (Founder & CEO) on content creation and editing for her personal Instagram.
• Stay current on trends, sounds, formats, and cultural moments; produce platform-native, authentic content.
• Optimize videos for hooks, pacing, retention, and discoverability.
• Schedule posts on Instagram and TikTok; troubleshoot publishing issues.
• Organize assets by saving, labeling, tagging, and managing video content within marketing systems.
• Write engaging, on-brand copy to accompany video posts.
• Monitor performance, identify what resonates, and apply learnings to improve future content.

• 1–3 years of experience creating short-form video content with a portfolio (brand and/or personal work).
• Strong understanding of TikTok and short-form video culture and best practices.
• Strong instincts for storytelling, hooks, pacing, and trend-driven creative.
• Comfortable both on camera and behind the camera.
• Strong writing skills with understanding of brand voice and tone.
• Highly organized; able to manage deadlines and work independently.
• Proactive, collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Passion for food, lifestyle, or joyful consumer brands; experience in food/hospitality/lifestyle is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
• English proficiency required (speak, read, write).

• Part-time schedule: about 20 hours per week.
• Remote role, with requirement to be based within 30 minutes of a SusieCakes bakery in California for in-bakery filming and in-person collaboration as needed.
