Data Center Technician -Vassar, MI

PGTEK is a consulting organization supporting client technology operations. The Datacenter Hardware Technician role supports and maintains Dell server infrastructure onsite in Vassar, MI to ensure high uptime through hands-on hardware troubleshooting, repair, and installation.

• Perform break/fix maintenance on Dell servers, replacing components such as GPUs, NICs, memory, and other hardware.
• Rack, stack, install, and service datacenter server equipment.
• Track, prioritize, and resolve hardware-related service tickets efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues using knowledge of server architecture and components.
• Communicate clearly with team members and internal stakeholders to support smooth operations.
• Conduct physically demanding datacenter work, including lifting up to 65 lbs and working on ladders.
• Collaborate with technicians and other departments to meet deployment and maintenance goals.
• Ensure high accuracy, quality, and reliability in all repairs and tasks.

• Proven experience racking, stacking, and servicing Dell servers in a datacenter environment.
• Hands-on break/fix experience diagnosing hardware issues and performing part replacements.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with technical understanding of server operations.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer-first approach.
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and work on ladders as needed.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Must be a US citizen.

• Preferred: Experience with Nvidia GPUs/NICs; basic networking concepts and troubleshooting; ability to read and interpret Linux logs.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with Linux command line (CLI); exposure to RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet).

• Location: 100% onsite in Vassar, MI.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (first shift expected), with likely frequent shift rotation; must be able to work varying shifts.
