Customer Success Manager, Ad Sales
Summary
Spotify is a global audio streaming subscription service seeking a Customer Success Manager within Advertising Sales. This role supports the full sales and campaign lifecycle, delivering consultative client service while protecting and growing advertising revenue through planning, optimization, and insights.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advertisers and agency partners to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Serve as the primary client point of contact throughout the sales and campaign lifecycle, handling requests and questions.
- Own RFP responses and develop media planning strategy across buying channels.
- Participate in client meetings for campaign preparation and launch, optimization recommendations, reporting, and wrap-ups.
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams to structure campaigns to hit key metrics and client outcomes.
- Lead campaign setup, launch, and activation, including creative production management, spec reviews, asset collection, and accurate trafficking.
- Monitor pacing, delivery, and performance; optimize and revise media plans to meet objectives.
- Use reporting and insights to identify, pitch, and close incremental and expansion opportunities.
- Lead complex projects with multiple workstreams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Educate clients and agencies on Spotify ad products, standard processes, and tailored optimizations.
- Interpret and present data (including brand measurement studies) and deliver actionable insights through data storytelling.
- Own post-campaign analyses with takeaways and recommendations to drive repeat business.
- Collaborate on initial billing and billing revisions to ensure accurate, on-time invoices.
- Follow internal best-practice guidelines, processes, and operating cadences.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (preferred fields: Sales, Advertising, Marketing, or Business).
Minimum 3 years of experience in digital media planning and/or buying.
Strong knowledge of the digital media/advertising industry and ecosystem.
Understanding of advertising performance metrics.
Proven ability to provide outstanding customer service and consultative recommendations aligned to business objectives.
Ability to craft persuasive sales narratives using data and research; strong data-led storytelling.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask and work independently in a team environment.
Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and all levels of stakeholders.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; comfort in fast-paced, deadline-driven work.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience with CRMs, OMSs, ad servers, and other digital media technology systems.
Conditions
Location: New York; hybrid flexibility with required office presence 2–3 times per week.
Compensation: base salary range plus equity and bonus/commission.
