Product Copywriter (Remote)
Summary
Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is a global omnichannel lifestyle retailer operating multiple brands including Abercrombie & Fitch, abercrombie kids, YPB, Hollister, and Gilly Hicks. The Assistant/Associate Product Copywriter supports the Creative Marketing team by crafting accurate, compelling, on-brand product storytelling for online channels across multiple categories to improve clarity, consistency, and customer experience.
What you'll do
Write engaging, accurate, on-brand product descriptions for A&F, Kids, Baby/Toddler, and YPB collections.
Maintain consistency in copy structure, tone, and voice across categories and brands.
Ensure product descriptions comply with legal standards and accurately reflect features and details.
Collaborate with site merchandising, merchandising, and site teams to support a seamless customer experience.
Develop unique product names, including on-product marketing (OPM) and collection identifiers.
Create editorial language to define collections and highlight key items.
Partner with design teams to execute hangtags and OPM concepts aligned with brand standards.
Own the color naming process with the studio team to ensure consistency and creativity.
Stay current on fashion trends, industry language, and competitor naming strategies.
Assist in seasonal campaign development by communicating key OPM moments.
Revise and edit copy based on leadership feedback, product updates, and market trends.
Conduct competitive research to inform and improve copywriting strategies.
Participate in team collaboration to share knowledge and build subject matter expertise.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Advertising, or related field, or equivalent experience.
1+ years of copywriting experience (preferred: retail or product marketing).
Portfolio demonstrating strong editing, grammar, and creative writing skills.
Exceptional attention to detail; ability to write concise, impactful copy.
Strong understanding of fashion terminology and trends.
Basic knowledge of marketing principles and brand voice development.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Teams; familiarity with Mural and PIM systems is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Open to constructive feedback and able to adapt quickly.
Passion for fashion and familiarity with A&F brands and competitors.
