Summary
Grownsy is hiring a Director of Retail Sales to lead U.S. retail business development and expand partnerships across mass-market, national, specialty, and regional retailers. This role owns multi-year channel growth strategy, retail negotiations, and performance management to drive sell-through and meet U.S. growth and P&L goals.
What you'll do
- Lead U.S. retail business development to secure new partnerships with mass-market retailers, national chains, specialty retailers, and key regional accounts.
- Develop and execute a multi-year channel expansion strategy aligned with U.S. growth goals and P&L targets.
- Build and manage long-term relationships with retail buyers, category managers, and executive decision-makers.
- Lead full-cycle negotiations for retail agreements, including pricing, trade terms, marketing commitments, and supply chain coordination.
- Partner with internal teams (marketing, product, e-commerce, operations, supply chain) to support product launches and ongoing channel performance.
- Monitor channel performance, forecast sales, and identify opportunities to drive sell-through and optimize retail partnerships.
- Track retail industry trends, retailer initiatives, and competitive dynamics to inform business strategy.
- Provide business updates, sales reporting, and strategic recommendations to company leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive experience in retail sales, national accounts, business development, or channel management.
- Preferred industry background in CPG, consumer electronics, or juvenile/baby products.
- Proven success securing and growing national retail partnerships with U.S. mass retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart) or comparable national chains.
- Strong existing network and established relationships with retail buyers and category managers (highly preferred).
- Experience in new business development (hunter mindset) and strategic account management (farmer mindset).
- Strong analytical and financial acumen including sales forecasting, P&L management, margin analysis, and retail performance management.
- Collaborative and comfortable working across global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Entrepreneurial, able to work independently, build from scratch, and thrive in a dynamic company.
