The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) is seeking a full-time Communications Intern for a 6-month internship supporting a prominent sports union. The role supports day-to-day media and public relations efforts tied to the MLBPA’s labor, licensing, and not-for-profit activities.
What you'll do
- Monitor news and conduct general research (biographical, organizational, and topical)
- Draft and edit issue summaries, analyses, and reports
- Distribute press releases and maintain the department media list
- Support special communications projects as needed
Requirements
- Recent college graduate from an accredited university (degree in public relations, communications, sports management, economics, English, or labor relations)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience using the internet for communications and research
- Knowledge of Major and Minor League Baseball players
- Spanish fluency preferred but not required
Conditions
- Full-time, 6-month internship (Spring 2026 through Fall 2026)
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days/week in-office and 2 days/week remote
- Location: New York City
- Compensation: $20/hour for BA graduates; $30/hour for MBA graduates
