Summary
Los Angeles Lakers is hiring a Manager, Global Social & Digital Growth within Integrated Marketing to drive global awareness and rapid international fandom growth. This role leads paid social strategy and execution across major platforms while integrating cultural insights from priority markets to increase engagement and reach. The position supports major marketing initiatives and collaborates closely with Brand Strategy, Marketing Operations, Creative/Content, Communications, Analytics, and Partnerships.
What you'll do
- Lead creation and execution of a multi-channel paid social strategy, including daily campaign management, launches, budget management, tracking, analysis, optimization, and reporting.
- Drive growth outcomes such as follower growth, increased reach, and partnership goal achievement.
- Partner with integrated marketing and social leads to develop a social-focused growth blueprint worldwide and in priority markets.
- Brief and coordinate creative asset needs with Creative and Marketing Operations, ensuring requirements for storytelling, growth, engagement, partnerships inclusion, and production are met.
- Act as liaison to third parties and agencies supporting international initiatives.
- Partner with Business Analytics to deliver organic/paid performance reporting and apply insights to future campaigns.
- Collaborate with Communications to integrate international media relations into omni-channel marketing plans.
- Manage in-market social media accounts and ongoing international channel operations.
- Research priority markets and maintain a pulse on international trends, culture, talent, and nuances that drive global fandom.
- Manage international digital projects (e.g., in-market sweepstakes, IRL activations) with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Identify and execute in-language moments for content use across Media Day, games, and press events.
- Activate digital and social engagement around game-day moments, including global sponsorship marketing requirements.
- Work with Global Corporate Partnerships to integrate international partners across social and digital platforms supporting brand and performance goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or related field (advanced/continuing education preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of social media marketing experience, including 3+ years in paid social.
- Proven success launching and implementing paid social campaigns for high-profile brands.
- Proven experience managing paid performance reporting and improving efficiency.
- Experience delivering global digital and social activations for a global brand.
- Agency experience or agency management experience (plus).
- International marketing experience (plus).
- Platform proficiency across Meta, X, YouTube, TikTok, and other social platforms.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and digital/social asset design and production requirements.
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Trello, or Wrike.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Strong ability to analyze paid media performance data and insights.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, collaborative environment.
- Understanding of international market nuances and audiences and ability to plan high-quality international marketing programs.
- Ability to make quick, high-quality decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple programs.
- Expert content planning and integration across channels while evaluating best practices.
- Ability to brief innovative creative within constraints (e.g., league rules, short timelines, limited budgets).
- Passion for basketball and sports business.
Conditions
- Locations include El Segundo office (Monday–Friday), downtown Los Angeles (Crypto.com Arena for home games), and occasional off-site events.
- Travel up to 10%.
- Continual attention required due to NBA season; after-hours work is mandatory with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Compensation range stated as $85,000–$105,000 annually (actual offer based on candidate-specific factors).
