Senior Director, Marketing Strategy

Her Campus Media is a community-powered Gen Z media and marketing ecosystem partnering with leading brands to deliver end-to-end Gen Z marketing strategies and campaigns. The Senior Director, Marketing Strategy leads strategic pursuits by creating high-quality proposals, presentations, and client-facing RFP responses to drive growth in brand partnerships.
What you'll do
- Oversee the development of custom marketing proposals from initial ideation through final delivery.
- Translate client needs and RFP requirements into strategic frameworks, campaign strategies, and creative thought starters.
- Guide internal brainstorms and ensure proposals balance creativity with strategic and operational feasibility.
- Own brand messaging and storytelling across RFPs and sales materials, ensuring clarity and adaptability across industries (e.g., beauty, fashion, CPG, tech, finance, food/beverage).
- Design and customize proposal templates, presentation decks, client-introduction materials, and branded collateral for consistency and efficiency.
- Collaborate on the sales enablement roadmap including pitch training, playbooks, and toolkits.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Sales Planning, Design, Branded Content, Community, Editorial, Events, and Activation to maintain alignment throughout the proposal process.
- Assist Sales Planning with pre-sale budgeting for costs related to custom programs.
- Facilitate smooth handoff from Strategy to Activation to maintain integrity of ideas through execution.
- Maintain internal tracking and organizational systems related to proposals and pre-sale KPIs.
- Stay informed on industry, audience, and cultural trends impacting Gen Z and Gen Alpha engagement.
- Translate market and audience insights into actionable guidance for sales narratives and proposal development.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Marketing, Media, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field (preferred).
7+ years of professional marketing experience, preferably in integrated marketing across multiple verticals (including digital, influencer, experiential, and integrated marketing).
1+ year of people management and leadership experience.
Experience building decks; proficiency in Google Slides, PowerPoint, or similar proposal-building software.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for client-focused messaging.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
