Summary

LA Clippers are hiring a part-time seasonal Social Media Associate (Editorial Content) for the 2025-2026 NBA season to create and support written storytelling across their social and web platforms. The role focuses on game and event coverage, features, and organizational news to elevate the Clippers brand and engage fans.

What you'll do

  • Create written content for Clippers-owned channels (social media, website, mobile app), including game coverage, feature stories, player spotlights, and community narratives.
  • Pitch story ideas, angles, and trend-driven concepts aligned with the organization’s voice.
  • Support live coverage of games, practices, events, and community initiatives.
  • Collaborate with social, marketing, and PR teams to align messaging and storytelling.
  • Conduct interviews and gather quotes from players, coaches, front office staff, and community members.
  • Assist with copywriting needs across digital platforms as assigned.
  • Monitor social media trends and contribute timely content ideas and communication.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of professional writing experience (preferably sports, journalism, or digital media).
  • Experience covering live sports at the collegiate or professional level.
  • Strong editorial instincts; comfort pitching and working in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with high-profile individuals (players, coaches, executives, community leaders).
  • Familiarity with social media best practices; marketing or content strategy experience is a plus.
  • Strong copywriting skills, attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Detailed knowledge of basketball, the NBA, and its players.
  • Self-starter with a data-driven, collaborative, team-oriented mindset; strong interpersonal skills (oral and written).

Conditions

  • Part-time, seasonal role for the 2025–2026 NBA season.
  • Based at Intuit Dome; expected to attend all home games in person and remotely support during away games.
  • Flexible schedule required, including weeknights, weekends, and holidays; hours fluctuate with event schedules and business needs.
  • In-office expectation: one afternoon per week (Tuesdays) with the social/content teams.
  • Compensation: $19.00–$21.00/hour; non-exempt.
