Summary

The Colorado Rockies are hiring an Account Executive, School Groups & Educational Events to sell and manage group ticket programs with an emphasis on schools and educational organizations. The role focuses on generating ticket revenue through prospecting, relationship-building, and executing themed educational events at Rockies games.

What you'll do

  • Generate ticket revenue by establishing and developing accounts through lead generation and networking across educational clientele (day camps, K-12 schools, colleges, and related entities).
  • Educate clients on ticketing processes to maximize value and utilization of purchased tickets.
  • Lead the creation, promotion, and execution of theme days and special events (e.g., STEM Day, on-field performances, pre-game ceremonies, batting practice viewing) in partnership with other departments.
  • Collaborate with marketing and cross-functional teams to generate leads, execute sales campaigns, and build year-round prospecting plans and business development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate client, prospect, invoice, and transaction records in Salesforce.
  • Track, report, and analyze sales processes and results with department staff to improve revenue and efficiency.
  • Research market and industry trends to tailor programs and identify new opportunities.
  • Create new business opportunities while maintaining a waiting list for upcoming seasons.
  • Assist with renewals for groups purchasing 20+ tickets.
  • Support updates to existing group sales materials and creation of new literature (fliers, letters, etc.).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred: business, marketing, communications, or sports management) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of high-volume sales experience (preferred: ticketing or sports/entertainment industry).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and internal peers.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with a results-oriented approach.
  • Proficient with internet applications and CRM systems; ability to learn ticketing systems such as Archtics and AI tools such as ChatGPT.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and oversee large-scale events and programs.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive sales culture and long-term team growth.

Conditions

  • Flexible schedule; may include seasonal in-game duties during evening and weekend home games.
  • On-site ballpark work required, including visiting clients during home games and conducting seat tours on game and non-game days.
  • Physical requirements include navigating the ballpark, stooping/kneeling/bending/crouching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Compensation includes base pay plus commission opportunity.
