Communications & Brand Strategist

Summary

WorkWave is seeking a mid-level Communications & Brand Strategist to execute internal and external communications across corporate audiences and vertical markets including pest control, green, commercial cleaning, and janitorial. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the role focuses on strengthening brand reputation, driving employee engagement, and supporting business growth in a B2B SaaS environment.

What you'll do

  • Own day-to-day execution of corporate communication programs aligned to business goals and marketing objectives across vertical pillars.
  • Draft, edit, and manage production of corporate content (press releases, executive talking points, media pitches, thought leadership) in alignment with brand voice.
  • Coordinate media relations as primary internal operational lead for external PR agency/consultant; manage timelines, content flow, deliverables, and KPI tracking.
  • Manage executive visibility programs including speaking opportunities and corporate/brand awards (calendar tracking, submissions, executive preparation, internal promotion).
  • Monitor and manage corporate review platforms; draft and post corporate-level review responses and run internal processes to solicit new reviews.
  • Spearhead Reddit strategy by monitoring discussions, engaging in relevant threads, and managing brand presence to foster authentic dialogue in core markets.
  • Lead influencer relations by identifying, recruiting, and managing relationships with industry thought leaders and key voices.
  • Develop and execute internal communications strategy to align messaging with mission and business priorities and connect employee work to the brand promise.
  • Create and distribute internal communications (bi-weekly newsletters, all-hands content, intranet updates).
  • Ensure communication governance and consistent, timely information flow to 700+ employees.
  • Act as brand steward ensuring consistent application of brand guidelines, messaging, and visual identity; train cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Track, analyze, and report on communications/brand KPIs; provide insights to optimize future performance.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Sales to integrate cohesive messaging into campaigns, events, and product launches.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
  • 2+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS or technology environment (required).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute communication strategies for internal and external audiences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Exceptional writing skills with ability to produce crisp, compelling, error-free copy across channels (media, internal email, executive prep).
  • Strong organization and project management; ability to translate strategy into deliverables and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack) and analytics/tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management, internal comms platforms).
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to counsel senior leaders and work with SMEs and external partners.
  • Self-starter mindset; proactive, resilient, and effective in a fast-paced environment.
