The Strategic Account Specialist drives regional business impact by engaging highest-value GI customers, expanding pull-through in priority accounts, and supporting field team capability through training and development.
What you'll do
- Achieve and exceed regional sales objectives by engaging highest-value gastroenterology customers in partnership with Territory Sales Representatives.
- Conduct in-depth clinical discussions with gastroenterologists, advanced practice providers, and office staff; introduce new treatment options and address clinical questions/objections.
- Assess regional market dynamics, access opportunities, and competitive trends; align strategies to accelerate pull-through in priority accounts.
- Operate in an overlay model across multiple territories to enhance coverage and expand prescribing depth through coordinated execution.
- Serve as a regional trainer by supporting new-hire onboarding, field skill development, and facilitating workshops at regional/national meetings.
- Contribute to regional strategic business planning with the Regional Sales Manager and ensure alignment to territory and regional goals.
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Training, Sales Operations, and other commercial teams to drive operational excellence and share best practices.
- Complete administrative/operational responsibilities including CRM use, expense management, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 5 years of successful pharmaceutical sales experience (external candidates); internal candidates may be considered with fewer years based on exceptional performance.
- Documented track record of consistently achieving sales objectives with formal recognition (e.g., awards, top rankings, President’s Club or equivalent).
- Proven success launching new products and driving adoption in competitive markets.
- Advanced analytical and business acumen to interpret market dynamics and translate insights into strategy.
- Ability to build and sustain relationships with GI physicians, advanced practice providers, and office staff in live and virtual settings.
- Strong digital skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Veeva Engage, Teams, Zoom, and related platforms.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple demands.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to travel extensively (including overnights) and attend required meetings.
- Preferred: Experience succeeding in an overlay model; peer mentoring/field training/facilitation experience; GI or other specialty therapeutic area experience.

- Territory coverage includes Pensacola FL; Panama City FL; Columbus GA; Mobile AL; Dothan AL; Enterprise AL.
- Extensive regional travel with overnights; attendance at national, regional, and corporate meetings as required.
