Web Editor

TMZ (part of FOX Entertainment) is hiring a Web Editor to edit and prepare video for publication in a fast-paced news environment. The role supports web and mobile distribution by sourcing and developing stories and producing edited video assets with strong editorial judgment.

• Edit video/audio using Adobe Premiere for web publication and partner distribution
• Create and export thumbnail images using Photoshop
• Cut and export files for distribution to affiliates and other outlets
• Pitch, source, and develop stories for TMZ websites
• Work with online video platforms and CMS tools (e.g., YouTube, JW Player)
• Troubleshoot video/audio playback issues
• Convert and transcode video across multiple formats

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere
• Photoshop skills
• Strong editorial judgment and creative storytelling ability
• Familiarity with video formats (e.g., MPEG, MP4, MOV)
• Basic web development / HTML knowledge
• Knowledge of online video platforms and a CMS (e.g., YouTube, JW Player)
• Familiarity with a media management system
• Team player able to collaborate across teams
• Ability to work full-time onsite from the Playa Vista location
• Experience editing news stories (preferred)

• Location: onsite in Playa Vista
• Schedule: full-time; regularly scheduled for a 50-hour work week (overtime not guaranteed)
• Pay: $22.00–$23.50 per hour (final offer depends on education, skills, experience, and location)
