Social Media Manager (Creative)

Summary

Uber is building a global Brand Social team to tell Uber’s story in engaging, culturally connected ways across worldwide social channels. The Social Media Manager (Creative) will lead the creative vision for Uber’s social ecosystem and guide creators to produce bold, brand-right content that drives conversation and community.

What you'll do

  • Define and own the global creative strategy and vision for Uber’s social ecosystem aligned to brand and business goals.
  • Develop concepts, campaigns, content approaches, and global guidelines/frameworks that regional teams can localize.
  • Create culturally relevant, platform-native ideas that tap into trends, moments, and consumer behavior.
  • Lead and guide a team of creators to ensure cohesive, high-quality, on-brand work.
  • Collaborate with communications, brand marketing, product teams, and external partners to integrate social thinking into broader priorities.
  • Review, refine, and provide feedback on creative assets to ensure production quality across channels (Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, YouTube, etc.).
  • Track social trends, emerging formats, creator behaviors, and new platform features to keep content fresh and relevant.
  • Champion experimentation through testing and iteration to uncover new creative opportunities.
  • Oversee creative for daily publishing and major campaign moments from ideation through launch.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in social-first creative roles (brand, agency, or media).
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong creative vision, concepting ability, and social storytelling mastery.
  • Experience leading creative talent and defining brand vision and voice.
  • Deep understanding of platform best practices and emerging content formats.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Preferred:

    • 9+ years of experience in social-first creative roles.
    • Ability to balance big-idea thinking with fast, scrappy execution.
    • Passion for culture (entertainment, internet trends, creators, design, etc.).
    • Data-driven approach to spotting trends and crafting impactful content aligned with business goals.
    • Calm under pressure; strong cross-functional partnership skills.
    • Influencer/creator/talent management experience.
    • Experience with Brandwatch, Dash Social, and Sprinklr.

Conditions

  • Location-based compensation disclosed for New York, NY roles; eligible for bonus program and may be offered equity and other compensation.
