Summary
Ansible Government Solutions, LLC is recruiting Remote Medical Support Assistants (Medical Receptionist) to support the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. The role focuses on scheduling, patient communications, and coordinating VA/community care processes while ensuring privacy and compliance standards are met.
What you'll do
- Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, and pre- and post-appointment patient contact in accordance with VA scheduling policies.
- Serve as scheduler/receptionist and coordinate appointment activities across assigned clinics or departments.
- Screen and respond to incoming phone calls; answer patient and provider inquiries regarding services.
- Validate, update, and maintain patient demographic information (insurance, contact details, emergency contacts).
- Process community care consults and referrals using VA systems (HSRM, PPMS, VistA, CPRS).
- Coordinate and authorize Veteran care with community providers when VA services are unavailable or not timely.
- Communicate with internal providers regarding VA Community Care rules, regulations, and processes.
- Upload and integrate medical records and administrative documentation into CPRS and VistA.
- Monitor and report system issues/outages to the contracting supervisor.
- Use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) daily for scheduling, communication, and reporting.
- Provide high-quality customer service to Veterans, families, VA staff, physicians, and contractors.
- Collaborate with supervisors, lead schedulers, and team members to ensure timely communications and efficient workflows.
- Maintain compliance with VA privacy, security, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
- Minimum 6 months of customer service experience.
- Ability to work remotely and independently in a professional setting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable VA background investigation (NACI) and PIV credential.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to complete required VA onboarding, security, privacy, and mandatory training.
- No physical/health restrictions that would interfere with job performance.
- Physical ability requirements: sit/stand/walk/lift/squat/bend/twist/reach above shoulders; lift up to 50 lbs floor-to-waist and up to 20 lbs; carry up to 40 lbs; push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
Conditions
- Remote position; must be willing and able to work onsite if required.
- Based in Wasatch County; supports Salt Lake City VA Medical Center.
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm (8-hour shifts within this window).
- Assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of Ansible or its customers.
