Billing Analyst

Remote Junior

Summary

VITL is a Nashville-based healthtech company building e-prescribing infrastructure and an open pharmacy marketplace for cash-pay medical practices. The Billing Analyst owns the accuracy, integrity, and end-to-end flow of customer billing across operations, finance, and customers to ensure invoices are correct and issues are resolved early. This role also improves billing systems and processes over time through controls, reporting, and exception tracking.

What you'll do

  • Generate, review, and issue customer invoices on a recurring and ad hoc basis
  • Reconcile billing data against contracts, usage, pricing, and payments
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, credits, adjustments, and disputes
  • Partner with Finance on month-end close, revenue reconciliation, and reporting
  • Maintain billing accuracy across systems (CRM, billing platform, accounting software)
  • Support audits by providing billing documentation and clear explanations
  • Identify billing errors, process gaps, and inefficiencies, and implement fixes
  • Build and maintain billing reports, dashboards, and exception tracking
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Sales on contract changes and renewals
  • Manage and help recover overdue payments from customers

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of billing experience
  • Strong understanding of invoicing and billing controls
  • High attention to detail with strong deadline management
  • Comfort working across multiple systems and spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets required)
  • Ability to explain billing issues clearly to non-finance teammates
  • Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or subscription-based businesses (plus)
  • Experience with Stripe (strongly preferred)
  • Ability to handle PHI/PII and follow HIPAA, company privacy policies, and least-privilege access practices
