Product Analyst

Summary

Rover is a pet-care marketplace company (app and website) connecting pet parents with pet sitters and dog walkers across the US, Canada, and Europe. The Product Analyst (Product Analytics) partners with product and design teams to drive data-informed decisions across the product lifecycle, from ROI modeling to experiment design and analysis. The role also stewards marketplace performance by identifying metric shifts, diagnosing root causes, and communicating insights to leadership.

What you'll do

  • Partner with product and design teams to solve customer problems using hypothesis-driven, data-informed analysis.

  • Monitor, narrate, and analyze marketplace performance; identify positive/negative metric changes and determine underlying drivers via decomposition and root-cause analysis.

  • Regularly present trends, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership and the broader product organization.

  • Design, execute, and analyze product feature experiments (A/B tests), including experimental design and statistical analysis.

  • Support and improve Rover’s experimentation rhythms and decision-making framework, including product ROI modeling using quantitative and qualitative measures of customer success.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (developers, analysts, product managers, operators) to build alignment and drive actions that improve marketplace performance.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of business experience in analytics.

  • Experience using data-informed decision-making to influence product roadmap and feature prioritization.

  • Experience owning the full A/B testing and experimentation lifecycle, including statistical analysis and experimental design.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to create clear data narratives for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Fluency in SQL and BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) to independently conduct analyses and root-cause investigations.

  • Experience driving analytical processes and building data-informed consensus across coordinating teams.

  • Nice to have: experience in a two-sided marketplace.

  • Nice to have: familiarity with Python, R, or similar.

  • Nice to have: familiarity with modern data tools and event-based datasets (e.g., Amazon Redshift, dbt, Statsig, Amplitude).

Conditions

  • Hybrid role with a minimum expectation to work from the Downtown Seattle office two days per week (Mondays and Thursdays).

  • Candidate must be based in the Greater Seattle Area or willing to relocate.
